We designed our Sanjas with a deep understanding of the locality and origins of the Khadi hand-woven organic cotton fabric and circular design elements to encourage longevity.
We thought a lot about how the Sanjas would evolve as people wore and lived in them. This meant thinking how easy it would be to repair high-wear areas like knees and pocket bags. We landed on a modular design that offered replacement parts and repair kits to upgrade your Sanjas and make them last even longer.
Sanjas are sold naked. That means no dyes and no chemical treatments. The only treatment applied to our Sanjas is a natural nut wash. For those wanting some colour, we invite you to apply your non-toxic natural dyes in our workshops. Many choose to keep them naked enjoying seeing the seeds in the weave and the natural Khadi cotton colour.
Sanjas are made from 100% mono-materials. From the buttons and stitching thread to the fabric and elastic, nothing is synthetic. We expect Sanjas to stay in people’s wardrobes for a very long time, but when a pair does reach the end of its life, we’ve designed it to be entirely compostable. The Khadi London team are also generating local circular processing for re-manufacturing the fibres.
